Project Overview
somos (Spanish for "we are") is a documentary photo project telling the stories of our undocumented community members and their families. Working with UFW Foundation and other local migrant services orgs to connect me with individuals who's stories we can share.
I made this project because immigration often gets talked about like it's happening to some other people, somewhere else. It's not. These are our neighbors and coworkers, and in 2019 it was my step dad. somos exists to close that distance. When you meet the person before you meet the issue, the us and them falls apart, and what's left is what the title says: we are.
